FREE Temperature Tracker for Windows
Mobile Pocket PC - log and track your body temperature!

When you have a fever, keeping a daily record of your
temperature with multiple recordings helps you and your doctor determine
what is causing the fever and how it can be treated. The pattern of
a fever can help suggest the reason for the body's increased temperature.
The Temperature Tracker simplifies temperature data logging.
The software automatically saves temperature, time, and location of
the measurement. In addition to being a convenient data logger the software
is also a voluble tool for temperature longitudinal trends analysis.
This longitudinal analysis may help you and your doctor decide what
is causing the fever and how it can be treated.

When to Measure Temperature
Measure your temperature several times several times a day in both
the morning and evening. Wait at least half an hour after smoking, vigorous
exercise or a hot bath.
Normal Temperature
The average normal temperature is 37 °C (98.6 °F). The normal
temperature varies from person to person. The temperature also changes
throughout the day. Normally temperature is lowest in the early morning
and rising by 0.5°C (0.9°F) toward the end of the day. The temperature
will also rise by as much as 0.6°C (1°F) as a result of exercise.
A woman's body temperature also varies by as much as 0.6°C (1°F)
through her menstrual cycle, peaking in the middle of the cycle (after
ovulation).
Abnormal Temperature
An oral temperature above 37.8 °C (100 °F) or a rectal or ear
temperature above 38.3 °C (101 °F) indicates a fever. In most
cases, a fever is a part of your body's natural defense against infection.
Fever increases your body’s ability to fight infection. However,
in rare cases high fever can induce epileptic seizures. Always call
your doctor about a high fever.
If fever is increasingly uncomfortable, you may want to treat fever
with cold compress or medications. Cold compress is especially effective
on the forehead and around the elbows where major blood vessels are
close to the skin. Wrap wet cloth around the elbows, put another wet
cloth on the forehead. This method is effective in both adults and children.
In most cases fever does NOT need to be controlled by medications. If
you need to lower your temperature, use acetaminophen (Tylenol). Ibuprofen
(Advil or Motrin) and Aspirin also reduce temperature but can lead to
internal bleeding and/or other unpleasant consequences.
Rectal or ear temperature of less than 36.1 °C (97 °F) indicates
an abnormally low body temperature (hypothermia).
Reviews
Convenient and easy to use!
Matt Green from Denver, CO
"I have downloaded and installed the software to my iPAQ with no
problems. I have found the timer convenient and easy to use. It works
just like a standard digital timer - press button to start, press the
same button to stop. The oversized numbers on the screen make time reading
easy. In my view the best feature is data memory - the timer remembers
all records. It allows to graph the times and view the best times on
a calendar."
